Sorowako
Location: East Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province
Temperature and Humidity: The climate in Sorowako is tropical, with average temperatures ranging from 25°C to 32°C and humidity levels around 80%.
Geography: Sorowako is situated on the shores of the breathtaking Matano Lake, surrounded by majestic mountains and lush tropical forests. This captivating location enhances your work and leisure experiences.
Demographics and Cultural Characteristics: Sorowako is home to a community primarily composed of Bugis and Toraja tribes. The town is rich in cultural traditions, celebrated through festivals such as Maulid Nabi and the Tana Toraja Festival. Local cuisine, including dishes like Coto Makassar and Pallubasa, further enriches the area's cultural wealth.
Operations and Status: PT Vale Indonesia operates a state-of-the-art nickel processing plant in Sorowako, with an impressive annual production capacity of approximately 70,000 tons of nickel in matte. We are committed to utilizing environmentally friendly technologies to minimize our ecological footprint and uphold corporate social responsibility, with a focus on enhancing education, health, and support for community development initiatives.

Morowali
Location: Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi Province
Temperature and Humidity: Morowali experiences a tropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 24°C to 31°C and high humidity levels around 85%.
Geography: Nestled in lush tropical rainforests, Morowali features a long coastline that adds to its natural beauty and charm.
Demographics and Cultural Characteristics: The local population consists of the Mori and Kaili tribes, along with newcomers from various regions. Morowali's culture is showcased through traditional festivals such as the Kaili Customary Ceremony and the Morowali Cultural Festival. Local cuisine, including Sate Morowali and Kaledo, plays a significant role in the region's cultural identity.
Operations and Status: Morowali is home to an advanced nickel processing facility utilizing Rotary Kiln Electric Furnace (RKEF) technology in collaboration with industry partners. This facility has a production capacity of approximately 73,000 tons of nickel per year in the form of ferronickel (FeNi). The total investment for the RKEF plant and related mining operations amounts to $2.6 billion. The project has been underway since 2022 and includes the establishment of a Nursery Center with a capacity of 700,000 seedlings per year.
We are committed to employing modern technology to minimize environmental impact while supporting infrastructure development and community advancement. Our efforts include skill training initiatives, public health programs, and overall community welfare.

Pomalaa
Location: Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province
Temperature and Humidity: Pomalaa has a tropical climate, with average temperatures ranging from 26°C to 32°C and humidity levels around 80%.
Geography: Pomalaa is located on the eastern coast of Southeast Sulawesi, surrounded by beautiful beaches and lush tropical forests.
Demographics and Cultural Characteristics: This region is home to the Tolaki and Buton tribes, contributing to its rich cultural heritage. Pomalaa's cultural legacy is celebrated through local festivals such as the Buton Customary Festival and the Tolaki Customary Ceremony. Local cuisine, including Sop Konro and Ikan Bakar Pomalaa, as well as traditional crafts, further enrich the cultural landscape of the area.
Operations and Status: In Pomalaa, PT Vale Indonesia focuses on nickel exploration and development. We operate a modern High-Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) plant in collaboration with Huayou and Ford, with a production capacity of 120,000 tons of nickel per year. The total investment for the HPAL plant and related mining operations amounts to $4.5 billion. Since the project commenced in 2022, we have also established a Nursery Center with a production capacity of 1 million seedlings per year.
