

Sustainable Mining Practices in The Eyes of Journalist
JWPC 2026 invites journalists to submit written works in these categories: national media and regional media from Sulawesi (South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, and Southeast Sulawesi).
Photojournalists are also encouraged to submit compelling and in-depth visual stories, accompanied by clear and relevant captions or narratives, creating a meaningful dialogue between images and words.

Explores the company’s commitment to advancing downstream development through the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP), highlighting its economic, environmental, and social benefits for local communities

Examines the role of local communities in promoting responsible mining practices and the positive environmental and social impacts that result from community-driven engagement.
3. Strategic Collaboration for a Resilient Industry
Analyzes corporate policies and collaboration with government and relevant institutions to build a clean and equitable mining ecosystem, as well as the challenges involved in implementation.
4. Transformation Through Green Innovatio
Explores technologies that are reshaping mining practices to become more efficient and environmentally responsible, supporting long-term planetary sustainability.
5. Real‑World Impact: Addressing Environmental and Social Challenges
Showcases examples of sustainable mining practices that tackle environmental issues while supporting community well‑being, helping to shape a more sustainable future.
General Requirements
- Participants: Journalists and freelance reporters from national and regional Sulawesi media or international news agencies.
- Media Categories: Print and online media published in national and regional Sulawesi areas (South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi).
- Registration: Complete the online registration form at the provided link and attach the required documents.
- Work Submission: Upload works to Google Drive and include a PDF or link as proof of publication in the registration form. Ensure Google Drive access for the committee.
- Required Information:
- Name, address, email, and contact number.
- Press card or letter of assignment from the media, along with a valid ID (KTP/SIM/Passport).
- Media name, publication date, and page number (if applicable).
- One Work, One Form: Each form is for one work only. For multiple submissions, use separate forms.
- Elimination System: Works that do not meet the requirements will not be evaluated.

- Fees: No fees are required to join the competition.
- Copyright: Ownership remains with the creator; the committee is not responsible for copyright misuse.
- Sanctions: If, at any point, a submitted work is found to be non‑original, the participant will be required to return any prize money or awards received and will be disqualified from future competitions.
Selection and Announcement
- Work selection will take place from October to November 2026.
- Winners will be announced in December 2026 or sooner via vale.com/Indonesia and/or PTVI's official social media accounts.
- The decisions of the committee and jury are final and cannot be contested.
Participants
Participants are divided into four categories based on operational regions and media reach:
- South Sulawesi Region
- Southeast Sulawesi Region
- Central Sulawesi Region
- National
- Mining‑Focused Media
Submission Criteria
- Original work: Submissions must be original, not translations or duplicates, and must not have been entered into other competitions.
- Publication period: Articles must be written and published between May 1 and September 30, 2026.
- Article types: Straight news, feature articles, or in‑depth articles that are timely, informative, and beneficial to the public.
- Language: Submissions may be in Indonesian or English and must have been published by a recognized media outlet within the specified period.
Article Length Requirements
- Straight News: Online: minimum 500 words / Print: minimum 800 words
- Feature Articles: Online: minimum 800 words / Print: minimum 1,500 words
- In-Depth Articles: Online: minimum 1,500 words / Print: minimum 2,000 words
Evaluation
Eligible works will be judged on creativity, clarity of message, social impact, and relevance to current issues.
Participants
This is a general category open to all photojournalists. Submitted works will be evaluated based on creativity, composition, and visual impact.
Submission Criteria
- Photos must be submitted in JPEG format, file size 5–10 MB, with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
- Each submission must include a photo caption in MS Word format, written in Indonesian or English.
- Submissions must be original, relevant to the competition theme, and must not have been entered in other competitions.
- Digital processing is permitted only for quality enhancement purposes and must not alter the authenticity of the image or its subject matter.
- Photos must have been taken and published within the designated eligibility period.
