Vale’s Commitments to Gender Equity
In 2019, Vale publicly committed to doubling female representation in its workforce by 2025, increasing the percentage of women from 13% to 26%. The target was achieved in 2024, one year ahead of schedule, reflecting the adoption of structured and intentional actions to promote diversity.
Vale remains committed to the continuous advancement of gender equity and recognizes that sustainable progress depends both on consistent internal practices and on collaboration with other organizations and industry initiatives.

Increasing female representation remains an ongoing commitment for Vale. To support this goal, the company invests in creating safe, respectful, and inclusive workplaces that foster career development and provide meaningful opportunities for growth.

Career Development Program for Women
Vale created the #SomosÚnicas Program as part of its strategy to support women’s career development, recognizing the diversity of career paths and the specific challenges women may face throughout their professional journeys. The initiative combines structured learning, support networks, and practical application in the workplace.
In 2025, the program reached more than 2,100 women across both operational and corporate areas. As a result, over 35% of participants experienced career progression after completing the program, which includes individual assessments, development pathways, and live learning sessions.
