PT Vale Sorowako Operations to Undergo Stage-2 IRMA Audit

As part of its commitment to responsible and sustainable mining practices, PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PT Vale) will undertake IRMA stage-2 audit for its Sorowako operations. This includes the production of nickel matte through mining and related activities.

We voluntarily agreed to undergo a third-party audit aligned with the standards of the Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance (IRMA) in December 17, 2024. PT Vale proceeded with the stage-one desk review audit on December 24, 2024, carried out by an independent auditor ERM CVS.

The stage-2 onsite audit by ERM CVS is scheduled to take place in 1-5 December 2025.

During the onsite audit, ERM CVS auditors will conduct direct inspections of PT Vale’s Sorowako operations and facilities as well as gather feedback from local stakeholders impacted by mining activities, including community members, civil society organizations, public officials, mine workers, and contractors.
