Assumptions for receiving the reparation
The surviving employees, who are the direct and third-party workers who were working at the Córrego do Feijão Mine at the time of the B1 dam collapse, (10/25/2019 at 12:28 pm), regardless of the formal functional capacity, will receive R$ 100,000 for moral damages, R$ 150,000 for material damages and psychiatric and psychological treatment, in an accredited network, until January 2022 or for the duration of the employment contract that already includes the same benefit;
The full-time employees, who are those workers, both direct and third party employees, with an active contract on 01/25/2019, and who actually worked at the Córrego do Feijão Mine, although they were not in that establishment at the exact moment of the B1 dam collapse, and who are not located in other Vale units or in other locations defined by their employers, even if occasionally, they have provided services at the Córrego do Feijão Mine and/or Jangada, they will receive R$ 40,000 for moral damages, R$ 40,000 for materials damage;
Employees on leave, which are those workers, both direct and third-party employees, who, on the date of the B-1 dam collapse (01/25/2019), were on leave for more than 30 (thirty) days, will receive R$ 20,000 for moral damages, R$ 20,000 for material damages.

Whistleblowing is the best way
Reporting is crucial to prevent harassment situations from occurring in the workplace. In 2020, the Labor Prosecutors’ Office received approximately 5,000 complaints of general harassment and around 300 complaints of sexual harassment across the country.
Many victims remain silent out of fear of retaliation or impunity, but this is the only possible way to put an end to the situation. If you are a victim of harassment, seek support from a trusted person and be sure to record your complaint. There are several safe channels to file a complaint. Check out some of them:
