Vale Botanical Park Vitória: biodiversity and leisure in the Atlantic Forest

Located within Vale’s Green Belt in Vitória (ES), the Botanical Park is a preservation refuge of the Atlantic Forest. More than a space for conserving native fauna and flora, the park offers complete free leisure infrastructure for the community, connecting people to nature.

Dear Visitor,
Vale Botanical Park is open Tuesdays through Sundays from 8 am to 5 pm.

Due to the 2022 World Cup and the participation of the Brazilian National Soccer Team in the first phase of the tournament, we inform you that the Botanical Park will operate as follows: 
  • November 24 - 8am to 12pm
  • November 28th - Closed
  • December 2nd - 8am to 12pm
As the Brazilian National Team qualifies for the next phases, we will release more information about the operation of the Botanical Park.

Explore the nature of Vale Botanical Park

In celebration of the site's 20th anniversary, we have launched a book and audiobook that invite you to contemplate an oasis of life in the heart of the city of Vitória.   

The work, which is artistic and cultural in nature, highlights the importance of biodiversity and shows the various activities offered by the Park to visitors.

In order to make the Vale Botanical Park more receptive and suitable for everyone, we are currently undergoing accessibility work.

Some of our attractions are also being redesigned. We want your experience with us to be even more special.

The Vale Botanical Park has a vehicle adapted for the transport of people with reduced mobility and people with disabilities (PwDs). To use this service, it is necessary to call the entrance of the space, so that the park team can direct the vehicle to the requested location.

A biodiversity refuge in Vitória

Founded in May 2004, Vale Botanical Park Vitória is part of Vale’s Green Belt in Vitória, Espírito Santo. The space is dedicated to leisure, environmental education, and interaction with nature, combining environmental conservation and well-being.

With an area of 33 hectares of Atlantic Forest, the park is home to more than 140 tree species and is visited by several species of Brazilian fauna, including migratory birds, otters, amphibians, and the broad-snouted caiman.

Our fauna and flora

In a context of intense urban development in the Vitória region, Vale Botanical Park Vitória plays a fundamental role in conserving native fauna and flora. The site currently hosts:

  • 24 species of amphibians
  • 21 species of reptiles
  • 151 species of birds
  • 9 species of wild mammals
  • More than 140 tree species

The park is a safe and structured environment designed for rest, contemplation, and social interaction, offering high-quality infrastructure in the middle of nature.

Biodiversity is an essential and intrinsic topic to Vale’s business. Therefore, the company is committed to understanding and monitoring the territories where it operates, managing environmental risks and impacts, and acting transparently regarding its practices with society.

Environmental Education Program

The Environmental Education Program at Vale Botanical Park Vitória aims to stimulate interest and raise awareness among different audiences about the importance of environmental conservation, with a focus on local communities.

The initiative seeks to promote knowledge and sustainable attitudes through participation, social engagement, and appreciation of context, leaving a positive legacy for current and future generations.

How the program works:

The Environmental Education Program at Vale Botanical Park Vitória includes theoretical and practical activities, divided into two projects:

Sensitize: The program offers school and community visits to the park.

Root: Developed in partnership with municipal education departments in Greater Vitória, it offers socio-environmental activities for 6th and 7th grade students (lower secondary education).

Plan your visit: general rules

Vale Botanical Park Vitória promotes well-being and environmental education in a safe environment. To ensure ecosystem conservation and everyone’s comfort, please pay attention to our rules:

  • Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Access: gates close at 4:30 p.m. (entry is not allowed after this time).
  • Free admission.
  • Trails: must be scheduled in advance. Closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots) and an accompanying guide are required.
  • Picnics: allowed exclusively in the grassy forest area.
  • Parking: boarding and drop-off must take place only in designated areas.
  • Waste: use selective waste collection bins.
  • Children: the playground is restricted to children under 12 years old, under guardian supervision.
  • Commercial photography: photo shoots and commercial filming require prior authorization from management.

To protect our fauna and flora, the following are not allowed:

  • Domestic animals: except guide dogs (Federal Law No. 11.126/2005).

  • Recreational vehicles: bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, scooters, motorcycles, or drones.

  •  

    The Park is not responsible for objects left on its premises.

  • Sound: speakers or loud instruments.

  • Feeding animals: it is prohibited to feed, harm, or remove animals and plants.

  • Waste and fire: smoking (outside permitted areas), making bonfires, barbecues, or using candles.

  • Party items: balloons, confetti, colored smoke, banners, or structures such as pallets and crates.

  • Beverages: consumption of alcohol or illicit drugs.

The Park is not responsible for objects left on its premises.
