Culture
Project Review
In Culture, Vale S.A. sponsors projects related to the following themes:
- Tangible and intangible heritage
- Music and dance linked to educational initiatives
- Cultural festivals and events
- Museums and cultural centers
- Touring productions in theater, circus, and visual arts, including educational activities
- Audiovisual

Sponsorship Request
Sponsorship requests using funds from the Rouanet Law and the Audiovisual Law:
- Through the Instituto Cultural Vale Open Call: applications are open from May to June. Dates are announced close to the launch period.
More information is available in the Open Call guidelines, near the launch date, on the Instituto Cultural Vale website.
- Through Direct Selection: applications are open from June to November, using funds from the Federal Culture Incentive Law (Rouanet Law) and the Audiovisual Law.
The platform for submitting projects through direct selection using resources from the Federal Culture Incentive Law and the Audiovisual Law will open after the conclusion of applications for the national Instituto Cultural Vale Open Call.
For sponsorship requests using Vale’s own funds:
- Applications are open from January to December on the sponsorship platform and must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the project’s start date.
- Cultural and technical-institutional projects may be submitted.

Vale S.A. invests in sports projects as part of its commitment to social development.
Through Brazil’s Federal Sports Incentive Law, the company sponsors initiatives that promote education, recreation, and inclusion, strengthening its relationship with communities and its social engagement.

Technical-Institutional
Vale S.A. sponsors technical and institutional projects aligned with its business strategy and institutional engagement. These initiatives contribute to knowledge sharing in areas related to the company’s activities and to strengthening relationships with strategic stakeholders.
Project Review
Vale S.A. sponsors technical and/or institutional projects, from January to December, related to the following topics:
- Mining
- Sustainability
- Logistics
- Innovation
- Engineering, diversity, and inclusion
Other topics related to the company’s business.

Sponsorship Request
Technical-institutional sponsorship requests to Vale must be submitted at least 45 days prior to the project’s start date. The evaluation process includes technical and compliance review stages, in accordance with the company’s guidelines.
When registering on Vale’s online sponsorship platform, applicants must upload the following documents:
- Articles of Incorporation
- Minutes of Election of Officers
- ID (RG) and CPF of the legal representatives (CEO and CFO)
- Company Registration Number (CNPJ)
- Project work plan, including a detailed budget breakdown of the requested amounts
- Applicant’s portfolio, including main projects, mission, vision, and values
- Website of the applying organization
After completing the sponsored project, the applicant must electronically submit the execution report and the financial accountability report, including invoices.
Both documents must follow the template provided in the Sponsored Party Guide, which will be made available after the sponsorship agreement is formalized.

Vale is the largest private investor in culture and sports in Brazil through federal tax incentive laws.
Vale supports sports through the Federal Sports Incentive Law, investing in projects that strengthen education, leisure, and social development in the communities where it operates. The company sponsors sports initiatives that promote inclusion, well-being, and opportunities for sports participation in different regions of the country, contributing to education and leisure activities and strengthening relationships with communities.
Vale conducts public calls through the Federal Cultural Incentive Law, via the Vale Cultural Institute, and through the Sports Incentive Law, via the Vale Foundation. Among the nationwide calls, the Vale Cultural Institute Call stands out, with applications submitted between May and June.
In addition, the Vale Cultural Institute promotes regional calls through its four cultural venues: Casa da Cultura de Canaã dos Carajás, Centro Cultural Vale Maranhão, Memorial Minas Gerais Vale, and Museu Vale. These initiatives aim to support and reward artists and cultural agents, as well as to build the programming of these venues, ensuring diversity of proposals and the democratization of cultural funding.
